Getting better.

Its been almost a full year since my,last post here. In that time some major things have happened and my response to it all was roll to tune out and stay out of any kind of spotlight. As an introvert, I take my time to seriously process things internally before going out and sharing or acting on what I’ve learned. The death of friends, betrayal by people close to me, serious mental illness of my sister, my car getting wrecked, and parting ways as an instructor with DC-ICE - its been a rollercoaster, testing my grip with sanity and my dedication to a career within the skating world. It’s been rough. All this time, drifting within my own thoughts, trying to make sense of my place in the world. But about a month ago, after another life changing experience at Camp SkateIA, I finally pulled my head out of the fog and started working on myself again. Depression is real. It drains you of the life energy that makes us who we are, and for the past year its been a struffle to recover from that depressed place. But for the past month, ove been getting back into old habits. Working out in the morning, drinking more water, and keeping my mind occupied with activities that challenge me to be better. For anyone else out there going through rough times, these times shall pass. All we can do is remember who we are and work towards being the best version of ourselves, regardless of how small the steps may seem.
